Balancing Life in so Many Ways!

Do you believe that a spiritual teacher should demonstrate the truths they are teaching in their personal lives? Dr. Sue holds that belief!

When one follows a path of guiding others on their spiritual path, one ought to have worked out their own life path prior to making the commitment to teach others. In every area of our lives we are presented with growth opportunities throughout our life; this is one of those realities that we come to learn as we grow older. However, a spiritual teacher is held to a higher standard, one in which they can demonstrate the growth they have experienced by walking a well-balanced path for their life. Even in the midst of life's struggles, a spiritual teacher wil be seen as a role model for others to follow in love, compassion, and doing what's right.

Holding a bachelor degree in business management, a master's degree in Business Administration, and the doctorate degree in Esoteric Studies, Sue has a well-rounded, well-grounded education that has benefited her in public life. Serving for many years in the field of academic marketing and public relations for private and community colleges, Sue has received many awards from state, regional, and national organizations for her marketing and public relations skills.

Active in her community, she has served as chair for many activities such as the Yavapai County Underage Drinking Taskforce and has served in roles such as chair for her local planning and zoning commission. Sue believes that each person should give back to their community to the best of their ability.

Sue also breeds and shows Beagles, another activity that she started over 40 years ago. Her "Desert Dawg" kennels have produced many champion Beagles that are loved by their owners.(www.desertdawgbeagles.com)

As co-pastor for the World Fellowship Church in Cottonwood, she shares the responsibilities of serving a congregation, representing the Church in community affairs, and promoting the Church through radio shows and print stories.

Married, with three sons, two daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren (plus two doggie grandkids) Sue loves her family time when everyone gets together and she is known as, "Doctor Father Mom!" Always striving to maintain balance in her life, Sue gives thanks for all the blessings and abundance Spirit has brought into her life. "Life is good," she is fond of saying!

Excerpts from Dr. Sue's talks:

LIFE MANIFESTS FOR US AS WE BELIEVE IT SHOULD, COULD, OR WILL! As we believe. Belief is what happens when our thoughts meet with our faith, in our heart center. Our beliefs can change and our lives can manifest differently than what we see here and now. And, according to Gregg Braden and others, it can happen instantaneously. It is totally dependent upon our belief system.

What holds us back? Our belief in the physical world is stronger than our belief in ourselves. Our belief in our need to suffer, or our belief that others are in charge, or our belief that we are deserving in some way of the good we are here to experience, all of these false beliefs hold us back.

When I think of the master teachers who have spoken about this world being an illusion, I  believe that the illusion is that this world holds any power over us!

We acknowledge that we live and move and have our being in this field of consciousness we call God or Creator or Great Spirit. We are one with the Creator…we are spirits, consciousness just like the field of consciousness in which we reside having physical experiences.

Affirmations for the
Sunny Side of Life

Every day the light of God shines
through me-
It shines through my smile-
It shines through my heart-
It shines through my actions—
In everything that I say or do,
The light of God makes its presence known in the
world through me!

I AM Divine Love manifesting in the world.
Every thought I have-
Every word I speak-
Every action I take-
Reflects the Love of God in our world.
I AM Divine Love manifesting in the world.

I AM Divine Peace manifesting in the world.
I am consciously aware of my thoughts.
I am consciously aware of my actions.
I am consciously aware of consequences for my actions.
In everything I think and I do, I AM Divine Peace
manifesting in the world.

Thank you Divine Spirit for filling me with your presence,
In every cell of my body—
In every aspect of my spirit,
I give thanks that I am One with you.
Everything in my life is in Divine Order.
Everything in my world is in Divine Order.
I am thankful.
And so it is!

When we believe that everything and everyone is part of a higher good, we can be positive in the face of seemingly negative situations. It is merely a swing of the pendulum as we come to rest on a new vibrational level. As people play their parts and the drama on the earth unfolds, those of us who are spiritually aware beings are called to hold our brothers and our sisters in light and love. We do not deny that hurtful things happen in people’s lives, we are called to see these earthly dramas in a bigger perspective, from another level of love, so that we can call forth the highest good for all from situations we do not understand.

What if Marianne Williamson is right and we have missed our group souls’ call this time around? What if we are being given another opportunity to rally people around an unjust war. A war being fought for oil and power. A war we, the people, are losing when we look at prices at the gas pumps. A war about squeezing the life juices of oil from the people’s of the Middle East as our propaganda machines rail against the threat they bring to our way of life. And yet, we have only been successful in strengthening their belief in what is wrong with the way of life we have as gas-guzzling, power hungry, consumption-oriented Americans.

In Philippians 2:9, the verb “highly exalted” is exactly the verb used by Jesus when He said, “As Moses lifted up the serpent so must the Son of man be lifted up.” In giving his life and being lifted up, like the fiery serpent, the God-in-man spirit is shifted from rebelliousness to obedience. This lifting up refers to the change in consciousness that must take place for us to have our sites, our focus, on spiritual things as opposed to worldly things. When we lift up our eyes, our focus, we are awakened to God’s very presence inside of us and God more than meets us halfway that we may know our divinity!

Prayer is the most highly accelerated mind action known. It steps up mental action until man’s consciousness is synchronized with the higher consciousness. It is the language of spirituality; when developed it makes man the master in the realm of creative ideas. Prayer is more than supplication. It is an affirmation of Truth that externally exists, but which has not yet come into consciousness. It comes into consciousness by affirmation. When you are in need, think about the inexhaustible resources of the Infinite Mind, its presence in all its fullness, and its constant readiness to manifest itself for you when its laws are complied with. This is what Jesus meant when he said, “Seek ye first the righteousness of the Kingdom and all else will be added to you.” (Matt 6:33)

As we give of ourselves, without thought of compensation, we are richly rewarded with larger and larger vessels to allow more Spirit to flow into our lives. If we stop to think about anything we have given, we block the flow. If our intent is free-giving without concern about how we will make-up the difference, the flow will continue to replace that which was given and give us even more!

When we talk about all of us being one family, we are trained to think of this as only our human family but what if you could wrap your mind around the concept that EVERY SINGLE PART OF CREATION is your sister and your brother in the eyes of our Creator. We are all parts of the same Divine Mind, the same Divine Principle, and same Divine Law. We are all love incarnate, in a body.

I am learning that I have less and less to do with the unfolding of my life. If I do the best I can do each day---I know that action reaps rewards. But even more, I know that as I do what I am called to do, moment to moment, with gratitude, contentment, and happiness in my heart, my mind, and my spirit---That our Divine Creator will move through all parts of my life to bless the world through me. In the lyrics to a song we hear, “In this very moment, there is just enough love, joy, and peace to go around.” The challenge to us, is not to miss the moment!

As a community of believers who has moved beyond the traditional need of being “saved” in the Christian way, we place a high value on our understanding of our “one-ness” with God. We respond to the calling of Spirit to raise our consciousness and our vibratory levels to a higher awareness of God in our lives, expressing as us and through us. We believe that this takes with practice and study…. We believe that attaining enlightenment, that inner communion that becomes a whole body experience of God, is one of our most important goals as created beings on the Earth plane. We are here to “Remember who we really are,” and then, to express our spiritual natures in their fullness with one another. Reaching out to helping one another as we travel on this path.

Once we really understand that we are not our experiences, that our experiences are a result of our being and doing, we will begin to see life in more holistic terms. We are the energy of being and doing. Our spiritual identity is the energy of authentic being and conscious doing. Our personalities and the illusion of separation are an effect of our human-conditioned being and doing. Our wholeness supports our authentic being moving into conscious doing. God has placed at the center of our being the foundation for an abundant life full of possibilities!

We will always learn something from the experience, maybe not right away but the experience will enhance our souls and contribute to the fabric of “who” we are as spiritual beings. Take your stupid things and tuck them away until you can review them with enough love, enough forgiveness, and enough time in the rear view mirror to allow them to become gems for you!

  I Can Choose
Written by Dr.Susan D. Sammarco
For International Day of Peace
September 21, 2007

I can choose.
As I travel through a dip in the road in the early morning hours
From my house on the way to work,
I pass through a dip in the road where I hit a frequency on my radio
That picks up both the fundamental preacher
And the ancient songs of the Navajo.
Stopping at that very spot, I can choose.

Both alternate in a mystical dance, one playing a few seconds
And the other slipping in a few words. Wisdom,
I suppose, for a modern time…
Mingling with echoes of an era long ago.
I feel as though I am caught between planes of existence
Dimensions from which, I can choose.

Each morning Spirit reminds me that I can choose…
To give myself over to the words of the modern world
Or choose the sacred, symbolized by the chants of the Native People.
Every day I can choose.

And life, gives us choices. Do we tune into fear,
Channels of war and hatred
Of intolerance…
Media hype keeping us afraid.
Or do we tune into channels of love, support, nurturing, kindness.
I can choose.

So I choose to turn off the news,
Walk by the stands of papers with headlines
Blaring at me, calling me to drop in coins.
I choose to pop in my music, or my books, selecting what
I allow into my mind. I choose what I dial in. I choose.
And I choose peace.

Jesus said, “Peace is mine. My peace I give you.” What did he mean by that statement? I believe that he was telling his followers that he understood the nature of peace in his life, of being on track and completely supported by his understanding of his destiny and of God’s guidance and supply for his needs at all time. It was the teaching of this truth that he was giving to those he was teaching.

If we act “as if” life is ALWAYS going to respond in the same way, it is. If we act “as if” our partner, our boss, our co-workers are ALWAYS going to respond in the same way, they will. But, if we CHOOSE to act differently, it gives others in our life the opportunity to act differently too.

If we delve into books from the turn of the early 20th century, we will find stories about “Sons of God” who were born throughout the ancient world. Many of these had stories in common, a common mythology, let’s say, that identified the birth of a special soul. The interesting thing is that many of those who came to be revered as “Saviors” were Master teachers that tried to show people the path to God or to help people acknowledge their one-ness with God. Many of these “Saviors” were promoted as the “only begotten son of God.” Does that surprise you? We are so accustomed to the Christian “Savior” that we are not readily exposed to others who have come before Jesus with the same title.—that is unless we intentionally seek that information.
